James B. McEvoy has over 45 years' experience in the accounting field, specializing in income and estate tax planning for individuals, small businesses and families. His primary focus is in the areas of Pre and Post Mortem estate and income tax planning estate tax return preparation, estate income tax return preparation, trust income tax return separation, and fiduciary accountings.
Jim is a partner in the firm, and oversees trust and estate business for the firm.
Prior to opening his own accounting firm in 2001, Jim was a Vice President of the Estate Tax and Trust Accounting Department at Chase Manhattan Bank, Vice President in the Trust and Estate Division Tax Department at Bank of New York, did tax management work at KPMG Peat Marwick.
Jim earned his B.B.A. Accounting and an M.B.A with a concentration in Taxation from Iona College (now Iona University). He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs' (AICPA) Tax Division and was an active Member of the AICPA Trust Tax Committee that worked to effect tax legislation and regulations regarding how trusts and estates are taxed. He is also a member of the New York State Society of CPAs, being active with the Trust and Estate Administration Committee, advising fellow member's regarding trust and estate taxation.
